Brenna + Hunter: Simply In Love
From the moment we met Brenna, her laugh and laid back personality won us over. We knew we were going to have fun coordinating her wedding. Every time she talked about Hunter and her wedding day, her eyes lit up and you could see the love and excitement she had to marry her best friend. And when we finally met Hunter, he melted our hearts by how obviously in love with Brenna he is.
Brenna and Hunter's wedding day was the perfect representation of their personalities and love for each other. They had an intimate gathering with friends and family in the woods at Hunter's family distillery. Twinkling lights, dusty blue and soft green hues, laughter, and fireworks filled the space that night. Below is Brenna's personal description of her and Hunter's love story. Read it and fall in love.
"Hunter and I actually first met in 2011, our Freshman year at VCU. We had mutual friends, but mostly saw each other in passing in the library or out and about. He claims he tried to "make moves on me", but I never caught his drift. After a few years of just being acquaintances, we started spending more time with each other - walking our dogs together, going out with friends - Mellow Mushroom was our original spot - and eating lunch together when we both worked at Stony Point mall. After a few months of spending time together, it was a wrap. At the time, we felt like the world was working against us in a way, but we both knew we were meant to be together so we fought to make our friendship and relationship work. He asked me to be his girlfriend August 23rd, 2014 on the beach at a Plain White T's concert (queue Hey There, Delilah) and here we are, married, with a huge house in the city where we met with our fur children.
We got engaged June 25, 2016 at Libby Hill Park - where we ended our first official date. The night of our engagement, we had just left our very good friends' wedding (shoutout to Jen and Cam Longest) and Hunter decided he couldn't wait anymore. We put the dogs in the car at midnight and drove to Libby Hill (a good 35 minute drive from our old townhouse in Henrico) and he proposed. It wasn't glamorous, but we had each other and our sweet dogs so it was perfect."
Brenna and Hunter's reception can only be described as pure fun. Chirba Chirba Dumplings food truck wowed everyones tastebuds with their unique twist on Chinese food. The Lone Ranger's band kept everyone dancing the entire night. Amanda Day Rose and Mother of the Groom, Kelly Biggs, surprise Brenna with all of the flowers for the event. Rowlands Photography captured every moment beautifully. And Hunter's family ended the night with a surprise fireworks show.
